1. Is A Taste of The Party a new Put-in-Bay catering company?

No. A Taste of the Party is an expansion of our catering company, The Butler Did It.  We have been in business since 1993.  The new expansion includes event planning for corporate and special events and other services.  Back


2. Do you cater only large receptions?

We are delighted to cater to any size group. It only takes two to have a party!  We can create an intimate dinner or a large event for any occasion.  Wedding ceremonies and receptions, theme parties, family picnics, garden parties, reunions, birthdays, etc.   Back


3. Can you help me with a theme party?

Yes. We love to do theme parties and we can do just about anything you can imagine.  Our large inventory includes props and decorations for a wide variety of themes, available for rentals.  Our parties will long be remembered by your guests.    Back


4. Where can I have my wedding reception?

Our 3 1/2 acre lakefront property is available for your ceremony and reception. We have a variety of sizes of tents available for rental.   Our full service restaurant with patio is available for groups under 100.  We also have quite a few favorite locations on the island that are available for little or no cost.  Looking for something special, please call 419-285-4321 for details.    Back

5. I just need a tray of hors  d'oeuvres for my cocktail party. Can you help?

Yes. Any of our menu items may be picked up at the restaurant or we will deliver to your party.  Why not enjoy your party and have a member of our staff help you set up and clean up.   Need something for a last minute affair, call us and we can help.  We appreciate 48 hours notice for large orders.    Back


6. I would like to have my grandmother's wedding soup included with my menu?

We would be more than happy to include a family recipe with your party menu. Just give us the recipe and we'll make it fresh in our kitchens. We've even had grandmothers make a point of telling us how good her recipe tasted.    Back


7. Do you make cakes or do I need to bring one from the mainland?

No need to go to all the trouble, we will create your dream cake. A wide variety of designs and flavors for your wedding cake, and specialty cakes and desserts for your theme party.    Back


8.  Where do I find a florist, photographer, entertainment? 

Our wedding  planning services are available to guide you through the planning stages and then take care of all the details for you.  Call for an appointment or have a consultation by phone if you are unable to come to the island.    Back

Yes, we can.  We can assist you with accommodations, transportation, conference rooms, audio/visual equipment, meals, side trips, welcome receptions, dinner parties, ......  We have the resources, experience and so many ideas that you will make a big impression on the boss.    Back

No, A Taste of the Party and The Butler Did It, as well as our restaurant The Skyway, are open all year round. We're probably open right now. Call us at 419-285-4321 to reserve a date for 2002 and 2003.    Back

Yes, we do require a deposit. Upon booking your party we do require a deposit to hold the date.    Back


14. How do I reserve a date for my party?

You can reserve a date for your event by calling us at 419-285-4321 to make arrangements or you can meet with owner Susan Thwaite personally.    Back


15. When do you need the final guest total?

We require an approximate count two weeks prior to your event so we can work on the orders. A guaranteed number of guests must be given one week prior to your event.    Back
